The technology that we use and the media we are exposed to change and affect us all differently. The media that I consume on a daily basis influences the way that I communicate in different ways. Technology helps me communicate with a greater amount of people and it also makes me more careful of what I communicate. For example, on Twitter I am able to tweet any thought that I have and share it with all my friends at once. However, posting on Twitter makes my thought public and permanent. Many people regret tweeting certain things because some things that may be appropriate between close friends can appear insensitive and can even be taken out of context. That kind of platform always makes me think twice about what I am communicating.

Social media makes it possible to socialize with anyone instantly. Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, and Snapchat increased my socialization because it is possible to socialize even when you are alone. It is possible to socialize at any time and at any location because of social media. The way I socialize has been influenced by the media that I use on a daily basis because I am able to socialize with people that I would never be able to meet in real life. For example, on Chess.com I am able to socialize and play chess with people from all over the world, which would not be possible without the technology.
The most media I consume is music. Music can change moods and affect behavior. Typically, I listen to music mostly in the car, however there are times where what I listen to depends on what I am doing. If I am on my way to a baseball game or practice, I will listen to something with a faster pace or more energy and this makes me behave more ready for the game or practice.

Due to this project I have realized that certain media makes me think less while other media makes me think more. Sometimes I switch between media very quickly without thinking almost as if my attention span is shrinking. I can go from looking at my Instagram feed for only a few minutes then jump to a different media like twitter for a few minutes and go back to Instagram without even realizing that what I saw the first time is not going to change. Other media like Chess.com and MLB.com make me think more because of what I am doing on those platforms. When I read articles on MLB.com I think about what I am reading and try to analyze and form my own opinions about the content.
